What if we ranked the best leaders to work for instead of the best companies to work at? Glassdoor just released its annual list of top companies to work for. But how meaningful is that list?
What does it tell us about the experience we’d have if we joined one of those organizations?
Research tells us that humans don’t actually care what company they work at. Why? Because employee experiences vary more team-to-team than they do company-to-company. Two employees on two different teams will very likely have widely different experiences despite working at the same company.
Ultimately, the person responsible for cultivating and maintaining the health of our collective sense of team is our leader. Imagine what would change if we ranked leaders instead of companies.
